Composer and Sound Designer for Film, TV and Theatre
ABOUT
Doro Bohr is a composer and sound designer for film, TV, theatre, and the concert stage. She is known for her sonic inventiveness and experimental use of guitars, synthesizer, and soundscapes.
Her work as a composer spans feature films, television series and documentaries. Her credits include productions for ARD, Arte, ZDF and SRF, as well as the feature film “Nico”, which premiered at the Max Ophüls Film festival in 2021 and recieved a nomination at the “Deutscher Filmpreis” in 2022.
As a theatre composer, Doro created original music for theatre companies across Germany including Schauspielhaus Köln, Hamburg, Bonn and Distrikt Neun, and frequently collaborates with local artists integrating music into their art installations.
As sound designer, Doro worked on many German TV Series including the drama series “Liberame – Nach dem Sturm“, “Die Chefin” and the 90-minute crime drama series “Der Erzgebirgskrimi”.
Doro has also written original orchestral pieces for WDR Funkhausorchester and Deutsches Filmorchester Babelsberg. She studied jazz/pop guitar and music production at the Conservatorium Rotterdam and Musikhochschule Köln, and has enjoyed a diverse career as a songwriter, guitarist, and music producer, playing in many different projects and touring Europe.
